Pass. Get easily burned overcalling a hand and suit this weak.

Double.
Of course I would prefer to have a 3rd , but otherwise I have an opening hand , short , and s (and 2 very useful 10s).

Pass is reasonable , 2 is not.

pass no problem yet. as a nonexpert I don't like to overcall lite.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

For handling this hand type I recommend the West Texas Overcall.

El Paso. Get it? (Runs and hides before the rotten vegetables start flying.)

I would double. As a general rule I don't like to have 5 card majors in a takeout double, but double seems a nice compromise between the very ugly 2 overcall and pass.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Hi,

If I bid, I bid 2H.

It is not clear, but it is not clear, that I would bid, but it is also
not sure, that I would Pass.

With kind regards
Marlowe

I would double, second choice pass. No way I'm overcalling 2H on this suit and these values.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

I would never double wrong shape in clubs and hearts- I would like to bid 2 Heart to take away one level of bidding- but I won't.
Kind Regards

I've already gone for 2000 for overcalling 2 with a lousy suit and hand. In that case it was KJxxx and I believe I had 3 spades and no 4-card minor for sure. If you're playing against strong opponentns who'd double you when it is right don't overcall at these colors. X is not that good either, unless you want to risk playing in a 4(3)-2 club fit.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

At this vul I'm not overcalling 2 with that suit and no values to compensate, its just asking for problems. I don't like passing much either with a decent opening hand and Ax in , so double it is.

2 is for sickos who haven't gone for enough numbers yet.

If i make any call, aside from pass, it's double. If I don't get in now, I may never get in, but that might not be a bad thing. In real life, I'm a passer, but have no problems with double. Bidding aggressive games may be a winning style, but I don't see why we're in game territory at this point. Call me a coward.

2 or Pass, depending on the day.

For the DBLers: Do you play ELC? Or do you think that the risk is smaller because you will RDBL if it goes:
(1)-DBL-(Pass)-2
(Pass)-Pass-(DBL)-(Pass)
(Pass)-RDBL?

I have no experience doubling with doubletons, but I have a ton of experience playing against people who double on with doubletons, and I have never haunted them down at the 2 level.

There are much bigger risks on doubling than to be doubled on 2, no need to be doubled for the score to be poor, partner can compete 3 or 4, or you can miss your major fit.

At the table I'd pass. I have some respect for X, but would be nervous with that club holding myself. 2 is crazy imo. Do I want the lead? No. Do I have a solid suit? No. Is hearts a safe suit at this point? hell no.
