its close to a 3 level preept second position vulnerable, but I still would bid just 1♦ because the hand has too much potential

Has this improved your hand much? Moving now or obvious pass?

Pass. Sometimes it's nice to be vulnerable.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

IMO _P = 10, _X = 2, 5♣ = 2, 5♦ = 1. Your hand got worse.

Well if this were IMPS I would guess 3♦ would be a good shot but at MP the danger of going for a big number is less critical and so I would bid 1♦

Agree with the others. 1♦...2♦.

After 4♠ I'm priced out of this pot.

1D.

Why should I bid 5D? The vulnerability is wrong, we are red vs. green.
4D by passes 3NT, risks getting passed out, when 5D makes, and also
risks a minus score, when we could have played 3D.

Hopefully I can pass, but I would not be surprised, if I reach
into the box and a 5D bids hits the table, before I decided to
pass.

But given the vul. red vs. green, Pass is the saner option.
