A possible bug, very annoying to me

Hi all

I just installed the new version of the program (actually, it
was installed by itself when I logged to BBO) and
it may be very fine but it presents a side-effect which
is very annoying for me.

My PC's default language is Greek, so I get the message
that my language is not available and English will be used
instead. No problem so far, BUT...

but when I am offline and doubleclick on a lin file
at my hard disk, I still get this message, EACH AND EVERY
time that I open a lin/pbn file. Now, when I am
perusing old records I may open hundreds of files
in a session -and I don't want to see hundreds of times
the message and hear hundreds of times the beep.
Not to mention that it is totally useless because I am
using the offline viewer.

Is there any way to avoid it?

Nikos

PS Needless to say, the program is still precious, but...

Hi, Nikos.

I hope there is one.

In the meantime you could install in a separate directory an older version (I have 373_bbo_setup.exe on my hard disk) and tell your PC to open .lin files with that older version.

If true, certainly sounds annoying.
FG is off at the ACBL Nationals in New York City.
I'll pass this on to him when he returns

You can choose the language in the options (the cog along the bottom) to show English. Once set this may override the check for your default PC language.
Worth a try :-)

Here is something that might be a workaround.

Edit c:\bridge base online\languages\languages.txt

add a line for greek

Greek|08

save file

then, copy

c:\bridge base online\languages\09c to
c:\bridge base online\languages\08c

Restart BBO, and tell it you want to use "Greek"

This might tide you over until FG returns
