Last night I learned that 2♣X making 4 wins against the opps bidding game in some strain.
Has anyone ever used this to their advantage? (KenRexford story?)
Sorry, I meant -380/-580 beats -400/-600

It's the same score as 1NTX so weak notrumpers will know it well. But it only beats opponents game if you're vul vs not, otherwise you need to either redouble or rescue yourself from 2♣X to 3♣X. The better choice is probably redouble because partner might misunderstand and take it out, then when you bid 3♣ they will surely smile and double again. If you just bid 3♣ directly after being doubled in 2 they might take another look at their defensive prospects.

Nigel_K you're misreading OP, the point is that if you double opps in 2♣ and they make 4 it could be a bad MP score for them because it's worse than 3NT.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I think Nigel did understand and I base that on his comment about 1NTX. If the opponents let you double them in 1NT and they make nine tricks, then they were better off playing in 3NT.

No I think not why would he mention their vulnerability too? Also you can't double and redouble their contract.

Sorry, forget what I said. I did misunderstand. It was early in the morning but I still should probably have worked it out.

Yes I got a good board in a national pair game once for -580, my partner was very distraught and assumed it would be a zero... she almost pitched a trick to let them make 5 lol.
FWIW, they passed out stayman-doubled without redoubling.
