Scoring: IMP

LHO opens and the auction is as follows:
(1)-P-(3)-?

3 is alerted as weak, what do you bid?
If you double then p bids 4. what would you do then?

I hate this problem, off 5 keycards it seems unlikelly to make game our side, I thiknm we should just pass.

Pass. Partner did not overcall the 1H opening, so his liekelihood of having 5 spades is remote. We are a long way away from 5 of a minor.

Our partners at the other table will do the same thing, most likely. So, maybe the pass will show better judgement and a better result than our opps get. However, I don't agree that partner, with his three hearts and about 6HCP would have bid 1SP with 5 of them.

This will seem weird I'm sure but I'd overcall 4C.

I do like 4C.
Partner won't try 4S with at best KJ unless he can survive doubleton support.
AND he will infer H-short, S-not invited into this auction. So, some D-length if 4D may be much better than 4C.
Probably giving -100 for -140, but there is a partial + partial upside maybe.
My fear is 4H lucky make when Pass allows -170.
