I think it's forcing. 3, we should have 9 tricks if p has a single spade stopper.

so we are agreeing that 3H is showing a stopper towards bidding 3NT?

And to the person that liked my hand, what exactly is there to like. How does this sound like 9 tricks off the time after an assured Spade lead?

So what do you do with this hand?

Well clearly 3-> X= with no stopper my choices appear to be 3 and 4 and 3 looks to be the most flexible.

So it is forcing, and because of that, 3 appears best.

My partner as it turns out had 17 points, with 4 diamonds.
