I deleted a couple of inappropriate posts.

A post in Play this grand in diapers about using a whiteboard because it was unrelated to the thread.

A post in How do I recover from this? that was insulting the OP.

Ah. Rereading this, I should have posted here when I deleted duplicate first posts, and two that had been edited to nothing that the OP told me they wanted to delete.

I need to learn by making mistakes, I guess.

Removed a series of posts and necros related to a new poster looking for a teacher. Left only one post with the actual request, along with some relevant replies.

Thanks to everyone who flagged the inappropriate posts and provided input. This was a challenging case, as the issue was not the poster’s neurodivergence but rather the way they engaged with others in the community. I hope we managed to preserve their request, while maintaining a respectful and constructive discussion space for everyone. If we missed any off topic posts please flag them and we'll take care of them.

Appreciate the reports and patience from those involved.

Don't worry about it. We don't post here for routine maintenance like duplicate and empty posts. Only if someone is likely to wonder "Hey, what happened to that message?"

Okay. It felt like there was a difference between a duplicate *topic* (i.e. first post) and a duplicate reply in another topic; or even a duplicate original post in the same topic.

Anyway, I've done that a couple of times, including IIRC the "started 9 topics" one, in case anyone wondered where they went :-)

I unpinned the thread FAQ: Making BBO Movies. These used Flash and were never converted to HTML/JavaScript, so they're no longer available.

Removed the thread titled "Gay?".

The thread was started by a new forum member seeking gay bridge-playing friends. An earlier version had already been removed, but after the member reposted, we discussed it internally and initially allowed it to remain because the poster appeared to be a legitimate BBO player.

The thread has now been removed after it developed into an increasingly unproductive argument, with no constructive bridge or BBO-related discussion.

Removed two posts from adiong2019 from the Chinese forum.

I know, trust automatic translation services, but they were both (to my reading) discussions about hiring video producers to make ads for Meta and Alphabet. Zero bridge content whatever.

(they also didn't have a link to their website, which seems odd, but you know).

They are still recoverable, if any of our Chinese-reading users want to argue that I have no idea, they absolutely are what the forum and Chinese bridge wants.
