Moved a misplaced post from the Paterno thread to the "best compliment at table" thread, on request from the own post.

Deleted two subsequent post referring to the post which is now no longer there, as they served no purpose.

1) Quoted misplaced post, asked why Paterno would care
2) "I misplaced the post"

Thank you. We both assumed you would fix.

I agreed with Fluffy's comment in response to a reply in the multi-data thread that the alternative suggestion was inappropriate in that thread. So instead of allowing the thread to have a hostile fork and change directions, I Split the alternative suggestion out as a new thread in the same forum.

Three identical post about the missing queen were deleted. This was an advertisement, and I am not totally opposed to one copy of this being left. Any of the many people who flagged this for me have a strong opinion one way or the other about allowing one copy in.

Even though I did not happen to be one of the many, and thus was not technically asked for an opinion, that hasn't stopped me in the past; so, here goes :D

Recommend not putting one of them back in. If only one had been posted, then perhaps an admonishment to the OP that such ads should be submitted for approval in the future would be in order. The multi-posting would have changed my opinion about whether the spammer would be receptive to that if I were a Mod.

I was one of the many. I don't feel very very strongly, but I think it's better they all go, because (i) posting 3 times in different threads was very irritating so (IMO) should be punished and (ii) it was only an advertisement. If it had some useful bridge content (e.g. an extract from the book) together with the ad I would fell less inclined to delete them all, but it didn't.

I was also one of the many, and agree with Frances. Advertisements being posted more than once becomes spam. Moreover, it was posted in general BBO discussion, the wrong forum for sure!

Moved the thread "Bingo Reward Tourneys" from GIB Robot Discussion to Suggestions for the Software. The former is for discussion of GIB bidding and play, tournament formats are more appropriate in the suggestions forum.

Moved a thread looking for an expert BBO partner (did he mean real expert or "BBO expert"? :) ) to Find a Partner/Teacher.

Wait, barmar is a mod? Epic! Great choice if you were gonna make someone else a mod.

It seemed a natural action when I became a BBO employee.

I don't expect to replace Ben regarding abuse issues.

Great, I did not know you worked for BBO now! None of my business but if you care to share what you're doing for them, I'm sure we're all curious. Are you working on GIB or something else?

Yeah, we never made an announcement about it (now that I think of it, I'm not even sure if we mentioned it in the "Meet the Yellow" I did), although it got out in the GIB forum.

I've been doing some programming, both on the site and behind the scenes (the first thing I did was some small changes to the BB$/MB$ purchase pages), and I've been doing some GIB-related work that I can't go into detail about. I'm a software jack-of-all-trades, so I expect over time I'll have my hands all over the place.

merged two topics related to a new bridge blog into a single post (didn't delete the duplicated post about the new blog that this created). Duplicate post in different forums is prohibited...
