The 19th New Zealand National Bridge Congress kicks off on Thursday July 1st with the Inter-Provincial Teams Championship. Our own Cascade is playing in the Central Districts Open team and angel_b is in the Auckland Women's team.

Saturday July 3rd sees the start of the Congress proper, with the New Zealand Pairs Championship consisting of two days qualifying rounds, then a final and plate, with various side events for those unlucky enough to be eliminated.

Tuesday sees the start of the New Zealand Teams Championship with two days of Swiss qualifying matches. The top 16 teams then continue on a knock out basis until the end of the week.

Meanwhile, various other events take place. All in all it's a great week with a large entry field from all over New Zealand and Australia.

Many BridgeBase members will be there, including Cascade, angel_b, zog, davie, kiwitweetz, and yours truly, who is one of the few who have attended all 19 Congresses.

Results will be posted and bulletins available, at the tournament page on the NZCBA web site which will have regular updates. Wish us luck.
