5♦ is fine as dealer nv.
5♥ is silly.
6♦ - not my favorite either, but not as bad as others, especially of you think a heart is led. Very hard to evaluate opposite a 5♦ opener. Intelligent defense tracks the ♠A and they take three tricks. Maybe pard won the board with the 5♦ opener so x and take the cash.
6♥ is bad, but not as bad as 5♥.
7♦ is just plain stupid. Partnerships break up over lesser calls.

The hand you've been waiting for so long - Diamond loses forever, at least to hearts
The bidding just went like the stock market. Overbidding like madness and when people start to realize the hand isn't worth the contract, the reality came crashing down
I wouldn't even tell you what position I was in, lol

I agree with the 5♦ bid, even if many others disagree with it.
After that, we have entered the twilight zone.
5♥ was bizarre.
6♦ is only justified if it makes. I don't know why South thinks it should make. Maybe they need 11 tricks in hand to open 5♦. Double makes far more sense than 6♦. However, as the Hog once said, no bid is truly bad if it provokes the opponents into making a worse bid. Which leads us to...
6♥ was bizarre.
7♦ was beyond bizarre.
I suspect that South would have known what to do if 6♥ came back to him (and I don't mean bid 7♦).
