Having a void in all suits, I suppose I can pick any splinter now.

Edit: now that we see our cards I'd Double again, showing values. I'll then pass 2♥, and bid some NT otherwise.

unlike many of the clowns out there who bid 2♥ with any minmal TOX hand that has 4♥ I actually promise xtra values when I bid 2♥ probably a little conservative for some but I think I need to give partner some leeway as transportation rates to be problematic

The shape is all wrong??? Basically you promise 3 card support for any suit partner has. I would X with 6 HCP fewer and the same shape.

dbl shows this hand. OK four clubs would be better but at least I have two honours.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Double again, it's std this shows extra with 3 in the suit partner bid. The only other option is 2NT but that seems dangerous if partner has very little.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I'm sure I'd bid 2NT at the table but it's probably neater to double to show extras and 3 cards.

X.

Should show the strong bal. hand, if p passes the worst
that can happen is 2CX=, if he bids on, I will be fine as well.
It does not even matter, what p thinks the X to be.

With kind regards

I don't think double promises the 18+ balanced hand. You could also have a 4315 or 4324 16-count.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Okay, I have already Double....
Does a 2D cue now followed by a 2NT suggestion (e.g. if partner rebids hearts) strikes you all that bad...?
It all makes perfect sense, expressed in dollars and cents.

It strikes me as an overbid.

If you want to suggest notrump, you could bid 2NT now.

DBL

I would rather play 2♥ than 2NT.
If partner can make a move then I have an easy 3NT.

Yes I agree, 16 would be the min.
