6D. Dislike 3N, but I understand the problem (partner might just be 3541 with a stiff club and then 3N is probably best).

GIB used to vault you into 7 when you bid 6 on hands like these.

6 is clearly a good bridge bid, but gib is usually light for this bid. Oh well I'll try it anyway.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I bid 6, my partner had a normal 14 count but I dont remember exactly, he played it quickly and efficiently to make it. only 2 tables out of 15 or so bid 6, most people either bid 6NT or passed, which surprised me. I was wondering if I just got lucky.

GIB tends to be a pretty aggressive slam bidder, so I can understand the passers. Yesterday I opened 2NT, it bid Stayman and Smolen with a 4=5=2=2 10 count, and then raised 3NT to 6NT. Its hearts were AQxxx, luckily I had the Kx and they split 3-3, so it made it.

No, people are just bad at bridge.

Even with gib being an aggressive slam bidder, when you have THE BEST HAND EVER, probably a better hand than you can ever have, you should be happy to bid 6D. Seriously you have the complete top of your range of possible hands. This hand is far better than a 4333 18 count that you downgraded or something. If you are passing with this hand you are passing with every hand that you have. I don't think gibs slam bidding is aggressive enough to make that correct.

Passing this is a wayyyy overreaction to gibs aggressive bidding, or way underestimating how good this hand is.

I mean on the actual hand partner had a normal 14 and slam makes.
