15 is usually the cutoff for 2/3.

3622 call for conservatism.

A AK A + 9 call for aggression.

2 at MPs, but 3 in the problem given.

Of course I'd prefer if one of my was a and that would make 3 clear for me, but vul at IMPs I don't mind going for 3 here as well.

3. With all prime honors, this isn't even close for me. The hand is clearly worth more than 15.

Sometimes I use the guideline that a jump should be about an ace better than an opening hand. Anyone out there who would not open A8x AK96xx xx xx? I doubt it.

15 is definitely below the range for 3, but upgrading this is fine.

Yeah 6322 15 is almost always 2H. Agree with 3H on this hand though.

umm, I consider it an upgrade to bid 3H with 15 and that shape (obviously it's different if I have 7 hearts).

Seriously people are routinely bidding 3H with 15 and 6322?

This looks like a 3 bid to me. Borderline if I opened in second position vul vs not.

2H, but 3H is ok as well.

As long as both bids show a 6 carder, I dont think there is much
difference in the outcome.
After 3H I may feel more comfortable, if partner bids 4H at one point
in time, otherwise I may be forced to make at least one move toward
slam, ... given the amount of controls I have.
This consideration may already be enough to make 3H better than 2H.

If you are coming from an Acol background, than the answer is,
the cut off for a Acol is 15, i.e. you have to bid 3H with 15.
But than nearly all bids are lighter playing Acol compared to SA or 2/1.
And if I am right in my assesment, all post up to now, came from peoble,
who dont have a Acol background. I have, I learned Acol, as I started to
play.
