doh, I was thinking 1 was 2's dummy untill I saw the club duplication 
first I would try an unimaginative 3♥. Last time I saw this bidding, partner had 5035 and 3♥ was not a success. Lets hope it is better this time.
On the secon I like double wich gives partner many chances of getting the blame

I would pass and don't think either is close (partner is a passed hand and we're red/white!)

1. I passed on the first and collected an unexpected 800. Pard had a very *ahem* unusual negative double holding AKxxx x QT AJxxx. I still don't know what I'm doing over 3♠, but I was happy to collect 800.
2. Wow, I didn't think passing was so obvious. I chose 4N, but I think double has a lot going for it too. LHO pushed to 5♥ and pard bid a (very) questionable 6♣ holding Axx xx Q9x T9xxx. -200? No, diamonds went 4-1, so we were -500 for an average minus. Spades were also 6-1, so slam is cold NS.
I would be interested in a sim. Assume to passes, and then 7-8♥ and 8-14 points. Does this sound like reasonable constraints for a 3rd chair green 4♥ opener?
