I think so. Spades rate to play awkwardly even on a 5-3 fit, and thats about the best case scenario for your side.

Meh I'd bid 1S, these are def the best conditions for bidding though. R/R I would pass for sure. With some spade spots I would always bid 1S.

I would never pass on this auction with shape and a 9-count.
Hmm, are you really so sure about that? Well, ok, maybe if my singleton is in partner's suit I would consider it. Good! But I would still like to bid! But what if... Really, I would like to bid! ...what if LHO had bid one of your 5-card suits? Oh. Well, then I would look at my hand and the auction more closely. Good! Also... Hmm. Let's see. also LHO... oh and LHO showed length in my other 5-card suit? Yes! And look at... Wait! You are telling me I have a singleton in partner's suit, no aces, opponents showed my 5-card suits, AND i have really bad suits? Like K8xxx at best? You really think I was going to bid with that? I know I am a joke, but I am not THAT crazy! Glad we settled that!

I bid, we could simply be making a partscore. It's funny that most of the individual signs point to passing but it still feels so wrong to do so.
