unfav. imps, your lead? I kibitzed someone choosing what I'd describe as my 5th choice
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I think your 5th choice is a low spade, after low heart, K, Q, J.

Now the only question is: do you consider me to have the same priorities as you? :D

some argument can be made for a top or bottom . I would consider anything else my 5th choice

If you are trying to get the contract down, your chances have just diminished with the K. I would plump for the J only to find out a works best.
bridge is never always a game of exact, for those times it's all about percentages, partner and the opponents.

A small (the one according your CC).
A high honor is a nice attempt to block the suit.
I don't have any second choice, and would be upset if my teammates would think about any other lead.

Low heart. I dislike the K given that our highest heart spot is the 8. Distant 2nd choice J.

I have no idea, what your fourth and fifth choices are.
First choice is a low heart, second choice.. okay I have no real second choice, but I would consider a middle spade or a high heart as choices 2 and 3.
Kind Regards

a big spade beats it, anything else doesn't. Partner has QT98xx and out (spades are 2-2). I don't know my top 4 choices but I think the Q would be somewhere around there :( we have a diamond stop because partner has the stiff T and declarer has the jack.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Sounds like a small spade beats it as long as partner makes the expert play of the ten at trick 1 (which is not actually a hard play).

And which also may sometimes induce declarer into thinking that LHO underled his KQ, when declarer happily scores the first trick with A**J** :)
