PASS 1 2 2
2 3 PASS PASS
3 ...

corrected to 4 after a delay and before the director is summoned.

What does the director need to do to satisfy the "not incontrovertibly artificial" clause in the law?

Yes I know that the player is a passed hand but some partnerships play that 4 is always Gerber.

Same thing he needs to do with any other correction of an IB: find out what their system is. And it's "incontrovertibly not artificial", btw. B)

NB: if he can't be certain what 4 means in this auction, then it's not "incontrovertibly not artificial".
