They are both imported from the same country.
They have the same price and weight and tomato content.
But one of them is just like "quality ketchup." The other one has many superlatives written on it, with exclamation points. Which one would you buy? Why?

We are all connected to each other biologically, to the Earth chemically, and to the rest of the universe atomically.
We're in the universe, and the universe is in us.

Or bigger profit margins.....
I would buy both and see which one tasted better. I would expense them both as "R&D" and claim a deduction.
Time to "catch up" wouldn't you say?

Or it could be because they have more money because their product is good
You might invest a lot of money in merchandising when your product is average-good, but you are not doing so when it is awful. The good with the expensive merchandising might be better or worse, but it cannot be awful, that's what I'd pick.

For ketchup?
Actually a funny memory I have was going to Belgium when I was 16 for a week. The family I stayed with had ketchup on hand. On the back of the bottle, in French, it said "From America: Land of liberty and ketchup". Not exactly how I think of America, but I guess in Belgium it may be.

I'm guessing "Land of Liberty and secret prisons" or "Land of Liberty and the world's largest thermometer and ball of twine" wouldn't sell stuff.
