I was asked this question by someone and I just had no clue what they were talking about. What is the "Yellow Rose of Texas" convention? I know Granovetter writes about it in one of their books....

"Champions aren't made in gyms, champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. " - M. Ali

The description in the Granovetter's book is better. This convention has some merit but to my mind isn't frequent enough to be worth the memory strain.

Thanks everyone.
Good thing we don't use this treatment - the memory strain and the expedited level that certain shapes are shown I just don't approve of. Just the concept of transferring into 5NT is just...."strange".
