2NT-3H
4C-4D
5C-5H
5H-

here I called the director, there was a conversation in Icelandic between the opps and my partner and the TD and then the TD told me that my partner accepted 5♥ as a final contract (well I'm not sure what this means because I was the player over the second 5♥ bid). Before the TD came to the table I was pondering on what this auction could have meant. I was not even close to the truth (opps had no misunderstanding). Can you guess them?

edit: auction fixed now
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

balanced 21 and transfer to spades stopped making sense with the second 5 hearts, so I think matmat is right.

Attempted retransfer interpreted as a cue.

4c 4h. Cue for spades; retransfer
5c 5h. Cue again; re-retransfer

Oh, ok....so on the corrected auction, the second 5H was "choice of games" between hearts and spades at the five level ;) You stipulated there was no misunderstanding. You forgot to mention it occurred in prison.

2NT-3♥ - strong balanced / natural, game-forcing
4♣-4♦ cue bids
5♣-5♥ - cue bid / signoff
5♥ - an insufficient signoff

In conversation, the director and the other players established that:
- If you accepted the insufficient bid, the other two Icelandic-speakers would pass
- If you rejected the insufficient bid, your RHO would replace it with a pass

However, they all seem to have forgotten that you were entitled to make a call other than pass.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

strong balanced-natural 8+
gerber-none
gerber-1
signoff

5H went 2 down on slightly adverse distribution. responder "stretched" with 6hcp and a 6 card suit. he apologized for his flight of fancy.
