What's the min hand to do this:
(1♣)-x-(1♦)-p;
(2♣)-x-(p)-2♠;
(3♣)-3♠
?

What would 3♦ and 3♥ be instead of 3♠?

3D/H shows a very strong flexible hand, probably with only five of the suit. 3(54)1 would be ideal, but we're not always dealt that.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Around AQJx AKJx KQJx x will do, agree with Andy that 3(54)1 for 3♦/3♥ shapes are typical
