Another 4♥ bidder. PD is insisting for a reason, IMHO and I think we should prefer trying for our own game to passing.

Very strange not to bid 4♥ over 4♣.

After the double, it is a wtp. (5♥ is simply to rich.)

Lol at RHO.

Agree with Justin.

If RHO is bidding 4♣ over our response to the double, shouldn't he do it right away?

Likely he was a misguided soul hoping to get to 3N if partner was strong :(

all of you have better judgement than me :(

I though my hand would be more useful playing in clubs than hearts, but sadly ♣K wasn't onside so it was useless.

4♥ should normally make, althou you might screw up?. Anyway, I was dissapointed by opponents hands, exchanging ♣A for ♥Q would make my decision brilliant :P.

Wouldn't occur to me to bid 4♥ on the previous round since the ♣K is my only significant value.

Now it wouldn't occur to me not to bid 4♥.

Then try to imagine partners possible hands:

♠ xxxx
♥ AQxx
♦ A109xx
♣ -

or

♠ KQxx
♥ Qxxx
♦ AKxxx
♣ -

or

♠ AQxx
♥ AQxx
♦ Kxxx
♣ x

or

♠ AQxxx
♥ Qxxx
♦ AKxx
♣ x

or

♠ Kxxx
♥ AKxx
♦ KQxx
♣ x

And these are all minimum hands. partner can easily have extras without being able to X 4♣.

How about:

♠ KTxx
♥ AKx
♦ A98xx
♣ Q

♠ Kxxx
♥ AKxx
♦ Axxx
♣ x

♠ Kxxx
♥ KQx
♦ AKT9x
♣ x

♦ AQxx
♣ xx

♠ KQxx
♥ Axxx
♦ AQxx

These were the first few hands I got out of my simulator.

Opposite
♠J2
♥J10983
♦J754
♣K4

The first two hands you posted I don't think are worth a 2nd double, the double of 3♣, given partner could not bid. And even though 4♥ isn't good, both of them still have play for 4♥.

Hand 3 you want to be in 4♥.
Hand 4, give us the ten of diamonds and you want to be in 4♥.
Hand 5, again give us the ten of diamonds (or 10 of spades) and you want to be in 4♥.
And those hands are pessimistic hands, partner could (and probably does) have better hands than those for the double of 3♣.
