With bridge being a Mind Sport, teams who do not have to travel far often perform well. Brazil Open has a strong line-up on paper but not the greatest local form,

I think the home field advantage is much decreased in mind sports actually. Personal opinion!

Mind sport - can always combat by going 1-2 days earlier to be well rested for event.

But physical sports, even indoor sports, the new humidity, new climate, the partison crowds all become stressful factors that affect performance much more.

I will go out on a limb and claim that lsllsl won't get a single final right. Well, maybe he doesn't need the bottle of wine anyway.

Can't happen, but maybe you're just trying to get credit if either end up in the finals?

Hmm, yes - but just because the US teams cannot meet in the finals, doesn't mean to say that the pick will necessarily score badly.

All the entries can be seen on Google Docs at the following link: http://tinyurl.com/mvfqkp (a google account is not required).

I will update the spreadsheet when we reach the quarter-finals.

Maybe we should have a 'Wisdom of the Crowd' pick (just to find out what will actually happen).

The Wisdom of the Crowd suggests that Peter Gill will win, closely followed by Jlall.

yeah whatever, but am I last or is there someone behind?

BTW: Most of the non BBFs have put Spain in the quarterfinals in VC, while no member but me trusted them .

They probably didn't know yet that the third pair was composed with the woman who has read every read ever written and the other who never ever received a lesson let alone read a book and its proud of it. Those 2 are gonna be funny.
