When The windows client version of Gib was updated the following files were updated :

mb.txt
comments.txt
bridge.exe (the engine)

In my Gib sub-folder under C:\ Bridge Base Online these are all dated 7th May 2009.

I've now (today) updated my commercial version of Gib by downloading/running bpat620.exe.

The file dates in my C:\Program Files\Gib folder are now:
mb.txt (7th November 2008)
comments.txt (18th March 2002)
bridge.exe (6th Feb 2009)

These are all older (and smaller) than the files in the windows client.
I'm wondering if this is as it should be and also would it be OK to copy the more recent files from the windows client Gib into the comercial Gib?

This is as it should be.

If you move BBO's GIB files to where they will be picked up by the CD-ROM version of GIB, the CD version will stop working properly (probably you won't be able to use it at all until you restore its files).

Do the commercial GIB versions include the bidding improvements made to the GIBs on BBO? If not, is there a plan that future GIBs may include them?

An update to the commercial version was made available in January 2009 that contained work done by the BBO team. It can be downloaded from the GIB site.

Probably we will continue to increase updates to the CD version of GIB that reflect the changes we have made for BBO purposes, but not clear what the timeframe for such releases will be.
