Sitting south, what do you reckon pard's double shows, and what should you bid?

What is this double?

Partner shows a good hand (in context) with lots of spades and diamonds. I bid 4♦.
Normally this double should show a takeout double of clubs but as a passed hand and on the 3 level, it is an unnecessary target to unmask their psyche.

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Edit: Csaba is right, I didn't notice that p was a passed hand.
This double is t/o of clubs. It is not related to the heart suit although it will typically have 3-4 hearts like a double of a 3♣ opening.
The idea is that 3♥ may be a psych (in which case it would be nice to have a dbl to show hearts), or it may be a genuine bid based on a club fit plus a heart suit (in which case it would be nice to have a dbl to show the spades+diamonds). You can't have it both ways but defining it as t/o of club is reasonable flexible. If you have a spade-diamonds two-suiter you would have to try 4♣. With long hearts you would have to pass, maybe you can come in with either a dbl or a 4♥ bid next round.

Thanks. I didn't think it through and passed it out
Don't know why, maybe reluctant to bid 4♦ with a poor hand over the passed hand X.
Pard held the following, and we got mullered.
