BBO TG, UNFAV, 2nd

3, KQJ98, 872, AQT5

P-1H-1N-x
xx-?

The rdble is a general running noise. Do you bid out now, or wait?

If you wait, it will go

P-1H-1N-x
xx-P-2C-P
2S-?

Act now?

If you wait again, partner will double 2S. Act now?

I pass the first time.

The second time I am confused, what is 2S compared with a direct 2S (or 2H)? Who are these opponents, this doesn't make any sense.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

If it was a Scandinavian pair, the partner of the 1NT might have shown a weak hand with spades.

A direct 2 (or 2) would have shown a run-out, that wouldn't mind partner bidding 3 of the suit, if the opponents competed.

(The agreement is part of the "Nilsland"-convention, originally constructed for weak NT's.)

As it is, I sit for it (and prey a little).

I pass the first time, I have a bit of sympathy for 2 instead.

Then I would double 2 for takeout, which I guess is the same as passing a penalty double of 2 under your agreements.

Agree with trying to prey on the opponents, hoping we won't become the prey.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

When I pass first, I will have to pas the double later too. What else should I do?
Bid a suit at the 3 level which I did not bid at the 2 level?

I had bid 2 Club first. Yes maybe they had tried to run out into this suit, but how likely is this?
Kind Regards

Roland

Had I understood their run-out scheme I might have bid 2C directly. Now I should sit for 2SX I think
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

I think I let them play 2x, I hope partner knows what he's doing.

Pass all the time, lead a spade. Pard has at least 4 of those, so this seems an ok dbl for us.

I'm not expecting a large set, since my club cards are wrongly positioned. Heck, it might even make. But on average it should go 1-2 down when our 3NT is doomed.
