hope it is club game and first round....will discover that i only have 12 cards, get a new deck and reshuffle. Later at home will burn the card I put in my shoe.

This is Advanced and Expert Class Bridge, if the problem was the number of cards, I would bet that around half can count that high.

And yes, 2d is automatic.

Easy 2D. Everything else is either a misdesription or an overbid.

What am I missing? 2C asks for simple preference.

I think 2D is the best description of my pile.

This looks like a B/I problem: 2, but of course, this is a problem for those benighted souls who open 1 with 4=5 in the minors B)

Damn, I thought all BBOers were chronic overbidders - nobody calling for a 2NT bid? 2D does seem a slight underbid IMO - how does partner to go on and bid with a 15-16 count. I'm divided between 2D and 2NT, but as a junior I suppose I'd have to bid 2NT - have to maintain the reputations of juniors you know :D

2, I'm a junior, but I see no other remotely appealing options

2. No 11 count, no aces, no spots, no trick source. If partner does something over 2 - ok, then I might admit to having a 10 count. A more interesting problem is what you bid if partner continues with 3 over 2, perhaps.

` - with our pistols and swords and sticks - ' shouted the Rat.
` - and rush in upon them,' said the Badger.
` - and whack 'em, and whack 'em, and whack 'em!' cried the Toad in ecstasy, running round and round the room, and jumping over the chairs.

Would partner raise with H-Axx? So the best H-fit is xxx/Hx. 2D gets more appealing. Does partner insist rote "4-pieces to raise"? Will he now 2H over 2D? 2D to partner.

With a minimum, partner would raise hearts directly with 1354, in my methods.

If partner rebids 2 over the 2 preference, you thus have an easy raise to game.
Kind regards,
Harald
