A funny 9-oriented hand from last night.
Dummy has ♠KJx ♥AK10xxx ♦A ♣9xx
You are on lead with ♠A9xx ♥Jx ♦Jx ♣KQxxx
After you opened 1♣, the auction went:
1♣-X-P-1♠
P-2♥-P-2♠
P-3♠-P-4♠
all pass.
So, you lead a Rusinow club Queen. Partner, who is insane, overtakes the queen to lead back a club. Declarer, ever the sneaky one, follows with the 10 and Jack. You are not fooled and lead a third club for partner to ruff.
Declarer, however, was not tricky, and partner was an idiot. So, partner has to follow suit to the established club 9. But, 9's are not worth anything, so Declarer ruffs anyway.
Declarer then pops out the spade Queen, which you win, partner following suit. Down one. I saw my 9.
Nothing special; just tickled me.

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."
