1♦-(2♣)-X-(P)
2♦-(P)-3♦-AP

That said, South might consider a weak 2♦ opening too. Vul 2nd seat should be sound, and this hand would be nicely described by that.

I'm south here. My 1♦ opening V in 2nd seat was on the light side and I can see why some would prefer 2♦.
Oh well, a short and not so sweet partnership comes to an end none too soon! Sigh.

North created the mess with the mysterious failure to neg dbl and even more mysterious 2H bid which promises 5+ cards. South's bidding was normal.

Some might criticize the south second seat unfavorable opening. Depending on your system that criticism might have some merit, but I'm still opening this 1♦ and not 2♦ 100% of the time personally.

The North not making the X was crazy. The 3♠ call was even crazier.

2♦ would be very bad in my opinion, you bid your hand perfectly. You do not have a light opening bid, it is a minimum normal opening.

Thanks all. The bidding was awful but my partner spewing foul, public, comments about my bad bidding after the hand was worse!. I have not run into a character quite like this before, and I shudder to think of this guy and no doubt others free to roam BBO with their own grossly over estimated skill level.

If you were South you'd rather kill North instead of leaving the game. I've heard bridge is played in prisons so killing North doesn't mean you'll stop playing bridge...
