From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

I'm going to pretend I bid 3NT instead of 3 since it's so obvious. In that case I have an easy 4 call now.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

You've missed the opportunity to bid 3NT.
But slam is possible, try 4 now.

Btw: why do you have such a rude signature?

The sinature is from the film true romance.

The quote is Dennis Hopper. He is caught by a sicilian gangster, whom he knows will torture him and murder him for informations of his sons whereabouts.

Using the above quote, he provokes the gangster (or one of his henchmen) to kill him prematurely.

Good scene.

Best Regards

You have pretty much forced your partner to bid 4 on any two small, maybe even a single Ace. 3NT would have been my bid too. And I don't like 2 not showing extras, but what do i know.

Still, we can't even rule out a grand (though unlikely), so I'll give it a cue (in 4) but fall to rest in 5 unless partner takes an initiative.

Since neither player bid NT at any point, the auction indicates that the hearts are wide open. That is of course not real, instead of 3H, responder should have bid 3NT. We haven't seen opener's hand yet, who knows what he has done, but sounds like he has 4-3-5-1 or 4-2-5-2 minimum with about Jxx or Qxx in hearts. In the given auction, I now bid 4H and then attempt to sign off ASAP.

I prefer 3Nt too (with the KJ9 of clubs ill bid 3H). But my regular partner (south) bid 3H. His reasoning is that if partner got nothing in H he will bid 3S with 4261 and bid 5C with 4162 or repeat D with 6 good diamonds. He expected 4C to show at least Qx of support. They reach 6C with Jx facing K9xxxxx and no other losers.

PS sorry for the signature its very funny in the film context (its IMO one the 10 best ever scene of cinema) but quite rude literally.

As OleBerg explained, in the context it is an act of bravery.

10 best ever movie scenes could be a long thread in the Watercooler.
