I don't want to suggest spades with a double anyway since pard couldn't overcall. This hand will get tapped early so spades rates to play poorly. Obviously I'm also poorly placed if pard bids clubs.

If I double and then bid diamonds (over ♣'s) my partner might think I have a 17+ hand. 3♥ it's an option, although partner might bid spades with only 3 (or even Qx. I'm leaning towards 3♦.

I would bid 4♦, and if 4♥ undoubled comes back to me, I would bid 4♠. It just seems to likely to me that 4♥ is coming around to me, and if I am going to bid 4♠, I would much rather have bid 4 diamonds last time than 3.

I like the sentiment, but I play this call as a form of Leaping Michaels with many partners.
