I've thought about this now for about ten minutes and I've convinced myself that I like 5♠ instead of 4♠, because I can't see myself letting this out in less than slam. 5N really should deny a 1st round spade control.

Of course I don't know if we can make six. However, but I think there is an excellent chance that our opponents are going to sac in 6♠ anyway and I want to prepare pard to make an intelligent move at that point, which he should with the ♦K / ♣A + one or both of the rounded Queens. I also want a discount of the ♠A in pard's evaluation.

If we are going down in slam and the opponents guess not to sac, then WD them.

4♠, I'm not worth exclusion. Even if I were forcing to slam, which I'm not, I would bid 4♠ then 5♠ or something more like that.

The biggest reason not to bid exclusion in my mind is that you might belong in diamonds.

The player at my table (who I had heard of before, and I think is an expert) bid 4♥. I found that to be a massive underbid, but he won a big swing when the auction was duplicated and my teammate bid more, leading to 5♥ -1. Upon telling of this hand to somebody else, he also bid 4♥, so I thought I would check with you guys.

I think that negative doubles these days should just be treated as a 1H bid. "Everyone" would see 1m p 1H 3S 5S as exclusion right?
