Sure, why else would partner double 4NT but to involve us? As for what to do now I don't find it completely clear, but I guess since it looks like the missing clubs are over partner's clubs that could put 5♠ at real risk, so I'll double.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Yes.
The redouble established a force, as it was in fourth position.
Even if it hadn't, the double of 4NT would do the same.
I double now, as I have no extra offensive values.

We should always assume 2/1 unless otherwise stated, because:
- If the original poster didn't bother to state his system, that means that he thinks it's obvious what he's playing. The only people who think this are 2/1 players.

I am not going to bid 5S, at least one of the opp.
wanted play 4Sx, even if he just choose it as
lesser evil.

Against that partner strongly suggested he thought 4♠ was making. And now partner is clearly offering us a choice between 5♦ X and 5♠.

I dunno what pard wants, but he seems to have some cards and didn't dbl 5♦. I also don't have a clear dbl of 5♦ and my hand is very, very offensive.
So I'm bidding 5♠.

He forced us to judge between 5 ♦ x and 5 ♠.
I have zero tricks against 5♦ so I try 5 ♠.
I don't know your style about a 4 ♠ opening, but for me it does not promise a pure spade hand with no defence. So, when I have a pure hand, I must bid 5 Spade and I do not think that this is a close call.

1) Remind me to shoot partner later for not simply passing 4♠ doubled and chalking up the positive score instead of putting us in this position now. 
2) Partner's pass of 5♦ must be forcing. Partner was willing to play 4♠ redoubled, and doubled 4N for penalties. This should create a forcing auction, imo.
3) Partner had the opportunity to double 5♦ for pure penalty and failed to do so. We have little defense vs. 5♦ (but its not exactly zero as someone suggested). Partner may lead the A♥ at trick one and give us a heart ruff (or win the A♦ and give us the ruff later in the hand). If we are really lucky, partner has another quick entry for another heart ruff.
But to me, this is too small of a target to shoot for requiring magic hands and perfect defense so I will bid 5♠. It appears to be the lesser of all evils.
