If you open 1♥, do you realize that you do not satisfy the rule-of-20 even remotely?
Tempting just to LOL this 'reasoning', but I will try to behave...
It didn't (doesn't) occur to me to consider this 'Rule of 20 TM' before opening the bidding. Is that very wrong of me?
Actually, I don't hate a 3
♥ opening, but my (fairly strong) preference is for a 1
♥ opening.
If you open 3
♥, do you realize that you can go for 1400? OK, I am pretty sure that the 3
♥ bidders did notice that they are 7222 with no spots, but judged to open 3
♥ anyway. Fair enough, and that is how we decide what to open - we weigh the good and bad outcomes for each option, and make a decision. We (hopefully) don't just apply a silly Rule, and display shock when other people make a decision that differs from our Rule.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.
RHO deals and passes.
