Scoring: IMP

As an 53 y.o. one hope I remember double dummy correct.
I could not reach original record tho I ve th link of BBOVU. I only remember that i was watching open room english commentary. Also I think South was Umit Tarhan, played as parts&opps sometime on BBO teams.

Both rooms reached slam . Closed room down 1 after lead. Open room made after Q lead.

Still trying to find answers :

I saw bid by South, so how East led Q
How come South decided 6 wthout using RKCB. Over 4 directly pulled.
For me hard to land 6. Who knows if it was an online game of any website I could easily hear and ignore immediately "wired birds" slogans of raving lunatics.

Seriously, is it a good slam try? I wonder what i miss. If I remember correct it costs 17 IMPs.

Really sorry that unfortunately i am unsure. My bad that also not saved to HDD. I was in a hurry to meet some guests and rechecking shopping list. Things i remember about your rationale question :
1d>1sp
3s>4sp
6sp

It might easily be a different auction.(Side suits bids by NS). What i am surprised South suddenly pulled over North's 4S.

Still trying to find VU record.

Hamdi, this is the A/E forum... no good player would use keycard as South, assuming that he ever took control. Furthermore the auction you gave is impossible for a good pair. South bid a non-forcing 3, his partner denied any slam interest by bidding 4, which could, for all S knows, be a bit of a stretch... so now S cannot bid anymore.

Your auction is similar to 1N - 2N (invitational to 3N) - 3N (accepting)- 6N.

I know you didn't mean that the original bidders bid as you showed, but I assume that you posted the auction that you thought 'made sense'. It doesn't.

Your question about why no blackwood reveals that you have a lot to learn... some advanced and many experts use a convention called exclusion blackwood, which enables them to ask for aces outside of a specified suit (in which they are usually void), but S would not have had any reason to use even this device IF he bid 3 and partner bid game.

Probably south bid on over 4 because he was far too good for his 3 bid. What else is new.

Agree with you Mike, this is the wrong forum for this...

Probabilities are calculable, but may be a bit lengthy to get. Just by looking at it, one seems to need a bit of luck. I would guess something like a 40% slam, making it not the best, but certaily playable.
