How should this hand be bid? Usual problem I guess...

♠AKQT98
♥AQ9x
♦x
♣Ax
Partner was a passed hand and you opened 3rd or 4th with 1♠ and partner responded 2♣ (natural, no drury). Should you show hearts or rebid spades? At what level? Suppose your partner's next bid is 3NT, would you leave it there?
I'm not sure what should be rebid with the above hand, though I'd prefer rebidding the spades. I would also prefer playing 4♠ over 3NT.

If partner bids 3NT now he can't have more than 1♠ and 3♥, so he has 9+ card in the minors. He should have a stopper in ♦. Tthere is a chance that he upgraded his hand to bid 2♣. But he can't be weaker than ♠ x ♥ xxx ♦KJxx ♣QJTxx and thats enough to make 3NT.
There is still a chance to make 6♣ though, something like ♠ - ♥ xx ♦ Axxxx ♣KQxxxx is consistent with partners bidding.
If 4♣ is forcing, I'll try that route.
If 4NT is quantitative, that might be worth a try.
If 4♣ is nonforcing, than I'll try biddig 4♠ trying to show the excellent suit quality.

3 ♥ shows a 5/5, so I stick to 2 ♥ too. No need to hurry now after pd bid a forcing 2 ♣.

2♥ is a one-round force, just as it would by an unpassed hand when playing SAYC or modern Acol.

Well, then it seems like 2♥ is the call.

But I am still praying that partner does not pass... Passed hand sometimes passes unexpectedly, having taken liberties with the 2C call (which also was not forcing opposite 3rd seat opener). For this problem, I think we really need to know whether the opening was in 3rd seat or 4th seat.
