Speaking of which, this happened in Round 1 of the Qualifying session. Would you have found the 1 overcall here? Bocchi did.

Scoring: IMP


I was sitting West with North as dealer, and the auction was as follows:
Pass - 1 - Pass - 1*    * (4+)
1 - X** - Pass - 1NT     **Takeout/Values
Pass - 3NT - All Pass

I almost passed the X given if partner had a takeout double (1345 ideally) South might've thought about raising but since he didn't, partner rated to have 18-19 bal.
But of course, I thought I'd play safe and was just a bit surprised at the (very) light overcall.
