I agree it was one of the better films this year. I thought of the "best picture" type of films Slumdog and Gran Torino were the top 2 films followed closely by Milk and Frost/Nixon then The Reader and then followed by miles Curious ... Button. The Wrestler was also quite good.
Other 2008 movies well worth seeing included Wall-E, The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas, Iron Man, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
But overall I agree, Gran Torino well worth watching.

They're not making cars like they used to. Or men. Nice to see the Dirty Harry persona making a reappearance of sorts, being reborn even, although he might scowl at that idea. 
Took my dad to see this movie. He's a big Clint Eastwood fan. More of a Mustang guy though. He really enjoyed this movie. I did too.

I enjoyed the movie, btw it was his biggest grosser, ever.
