How about closed for late inputs position after a period under that condition?

i.e. Topic started noon, inputs hidden auto 24 hrs. When they revealed no further entries allowed to post.

I hope it won't bring much work to server.

I don't understand why you want this feature.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I have a weird idea.

Would it be possible if the original poster had the option of having all responses hidden from view for the first 6/12/24 hours? It seems that there is real tendency here for someone that is a great player to post, and then have ten sheep-like posts follow. Not all of these are "me too", but many are. This creates an illusion that there is unanimity on a subject when in real life at the table this would be far from the case.

After the waiting period, the posts would be revealed, and rebuttal would then take place.

Nah, I like the rebuttal. Part of the learning is getting your ideas picked apart.

Just for to see opened mmddyy and closed mmddyy. So after a date server may delete. This avoids to waste bytes.

I am not particularly against to reach any truth. To me it all depends given a reasonable time period assigned by admin/s or by a mutual agreement.
To do that maybe some extra time may assigned for post-mortems caption. But better to open and close a topic to lift out much weight of server.

There is a shortage of bytes? That is our concern now?

A matter of capacity. Everything has a limit. I dont know how many members here. But when i click "find all posts of this member" feature i see my posts of 2 years ago till today.
I am Okay to see only a month period posts. I believe then server will work faster.

"But when i click "find all posts of this member" feature i see my posts of 2 years ago till today."

I like seeing old posts for historical reasons and i would suspect that most members do.

WTP? I'm ok with H_Karluk paying BBO $5 twice a month for a year and putting it toward improving the forums. At the end of the year we can have a pizza party or something. I think that would be a definite improvement.

Suggestion not supported by Invision Board, are obviously not going to be implemented.

Ben:

'Supported' as in Invision doesn't have the capability to automatically hide responses?

Or other reasons?

One option is the post are not placed on the board until an adminstrator reveiews them. That one is not going to happen. I don't know of one that says hold all post for 2 days or 3 days and then post them.
