gib escaping from 1nt double

pass-(1♠)-1NT-(X)
2C*-(pass)-pass-(pass)



I overcalled 1NT,
gib alerts 2C as 2 suited 4+clubs


Seemed a little weird to me, although it made 2C :)



I also encountered a similar situation:
(1C)-1NT-(X)-2D*-p-p-X-ppp

*2D 2 suited 4+D
I was 4234 16 count, gib had 5242,
not sure what to do, thought second suit was hearts, i had -800 that time, maybe my bad.
