I would rip it, I have great defense (stiff club, good diamonds which is their side suit if they have one, ace of hearts...). My offense also seems pretty poor.

Was 2H forcing?

You need to dbl to protect your game. We do have lots of defensive tricks, dont we?

I'm not even sure there's a game to protect, but I smell a tasty penalty.

I think this hand is too strong for a "non-forcing" constructive 2, so would have to start with 2 planning 3 over pd's expected 3.
After they bid 4 : I agree with Justin and would double , since I dont have special shape , have only a 5 card suit , and I am short in pd's suit.

there is no big alternative for 2, bidding 3 with this suit seems weird.

Anywy, now I have so many extras that double is clear.

If you double, partner bids 5. Do you bid again?

I dont know sigh would we bid 2h with say
xxx QJTxxx QJx x?? I would, this makes it
very difficult for a forcing pass situation
to apply to the weak hand. I think pass over
4s merely says I'm min and cant do anything.

and why did p choose 2c vs X? do they have a
flaw and/or reallyyyy good clubs? Was p hand
not strong enough to x then clubs???

p (under the gun) bid 4h (so their flaw was not
short heart) how good does p have to be to bid
4h when their p could bid 2h with my proposed
minimum hand???

This hand is just too strong for a 2h bid I think
starting with 2s is better. However we survived
our 2h bid and now have to decide what to do over
4s. Given how much better our hand is than min it
seems impossible for 4h to go down and the only
question is x for penalty or explore for slam.

It may no longer be possible for p to envision us
having such a good hand. This makes slam exploration
iffy at best. I feel it is iffy to x the opps in
4s when they might have 10 spades. If they have 10 p
is void and we might miss a really good grand.

for ex: void Kxxx Kx AKxxxxx

IMO we should start with

5d

which will show slam interest and may help on defense
if opps keep on with spades.

I think I would raise if partner bid 5h over my double. I mean he is basically guaranteed a spade void and 4 trumps to pull the double. I would just hope for a few spade ruffs and the kd, or the club ace etc. Really easy to see slam being cold.

Well, phil, seems you win given the actual hand :) And yea if you can trust partner to only pull the double if he has great shape, then why not raise to 6.

I'd X, then pass 5H because I couldn't trust my partner that much (he would pass on the hand given, and only pull if he was afraid of 4SX making, e.g. he'd overcalled light).
