I would had led a spade. If declaer has A, A, KJ10xx, AK there is no way to defeat it. We have to find declarer with Q and AKQ, so play a low spade now.

Interesting problem.

I rather doubt that partner could find the duck of the club from QJxx, since I could have easily have had K?5 or K52 of clubs (whatever our lead agreements are), plus declarer would certainly split the 10-9. So I'm inclined to put pard on 64 and declarer AKQJ.

If declarer really held AQ xx KJT9x, AKQJ, would she open 2N? It would be for me, but perhaps not everyone.

A heart looks right, but if I shift to a low heart it looks like I might have a 5=3=3=2 pattern and we don't want pard ducking. So, at the risk of looking stupid I will shift to the K.

Good thing its not MPs ;)

I'd lead another

After a lot of thought I played a club. I think declarer is 3352, not 3244.

It was difficult because I wouldn't expect arendb to give count at trick 2. With count it is pretty clear I think.

Also, I think partner wouldn't expect us to lead from king third or ace third against this auction. Well, perhaps the ace from ace third, but not low. This is especially true for gnome, king of the three small lead.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

Returning a clubs seems clear cut

Partner holding QJ64 in clubs can deduce that playing high is useless. I also have a hard time finding a hand where he play the 4 of clubs holding 64
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."
