When partner led 9 I really regreted not having doubled

but what did I know??

I won A, then played K. partner was awake on this deal and dropped J under Q. Then I played J.

Hardly enough if the opponent trusts our skills, but she opted for raising with A and went 1 off for +12 IMPs

a double gets a quick club lead and a push.

That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Ah - I understand now - you are saying that a club lead lets the contract make for a flat board - I thought you were saying that a club lead beats the contract.

(I couldn't edit my previous post - don't know why)

I'm still confused since I don't see how we could ever beat it, which I thought Fluffy was implying we could. Must have something to do with west's 14 cards and there being 14 clubs, even though removing a club from west doesn't help us at all.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

we beated it because declarer hoped to discard 2 clubs under K and 10, but 10 was not good.
