I think we should double the opening, but pass is reasonable.

5 spades might be doomed from the start, or it can be cold, but I doubt that 5♥is ever gonna be profitable, so 5 spades looks light the right bid.

I feel like doubling, so that's what I do.

5♠. I could write a whole essay about my reasons, however, since I can't guarantee any of them would be right... I will just put my answer here :)

5♠. I'm expecting to make this most of the time, and some of the time we don't I'm expecting the opponents to sacrifice.

5S as well. Perhaps the only thing I can say that hasn't been said ( although I think implicit in what Phil says and probably at the root of other's choice) is that I find this decision easier at this vulnerability. Reverse the vul and who knows what partner has. At this vul I think 5S should definitely have a play.

I think this is the only vulnerability that made the problem interesting, if we are not r/w I would crack without thinking twice.

If Opps are vulnerable RHO is akin 2461 with solid diamonds (or something worse), I don't say that double is bad, but I at least wouldn't be so surprised if they end up making an overtrick.
