My impression is that it wasn't the topic, but the presentation of some of the posts.

Much of the passion and fervor most likely was caused by the nearness in time of the actual events - an issue of this type needs a "cooling down" period perhaps.

me too... at least i hope that was the case... it's self-evident that uday and/or fred can make any call they want on any thread (or poster)... only an idiot would argue otherwise... if we all take this as a warning that our method of argumentation is as important, if not more so, than the subject i think that would be a good lesson

Heated discussion is one thing, this thread seemed to be heading downhill very fast from any sort of discussion. I also applaud UDay's decision, fwiw
