Can you name this book that I forgot please?

When I was young, there was this book that I loved. It was in (I think) wartime London, there were 3 children and they were poor. But they were talented and started to act and dance in pantomines, and made a living that way.

I think it became a series even. Has anyone here read this book before? Can't figure out the title!
