Scoring: IMP

Partner opens, and is a not a light opener.

1 (2) 3 (P)
4 (P) 4 (P)
4 (P) ?

Do you agree with the first two calls?
What is your call now?
If you bid 4, partner will bid 5, what now?

I keycard for hearts, and then bid however many it seems like I can make.

I would like to bid 5 over 5 to show the Queen, but I cannot.

5NT has no easy interpretation.

I think it must be 5 now. Partner will have to bid 7 if he has AK and K (hopefully we have 13 tricks somehow).

I think finding K after keycard will be impossible.

I thought 4C set clubs as trump, and that 4H showed two of the top three heart honors. Am I completely off-base?

If you had heart singleton would you want partner to tell you he's got the Ace or KQ?.

4 just shows A.

4 should show two top honours, having already bid the suit. I'm going to ask for specific Kings after keycard anyway just to be sure, but I reckon 7 has play if I find partner with the K and maybe one outside K. Will also work if he has extra s or the J but no way to find out about those.

A grand is possible: xx AKJxx Kx Qxxx is not much to ask.
RKC gives me 1 keycard: 5.
I ask for the queen with 5, he shows her and 2 kings: 5NT.
Now I realise that xx AKxxx Kxx Qxx is not quite a good grand.

I settle for six and hope it makes.
I could have bid that right away, couldn't I?

5NT, pick a slam. That QH is a massive card. 6NT maybe in the offering as well.

Disclaimer: Larry and I had a GAGGLE of 920's over the weekend, so I'm biased towards six of a minor.

Just keycard and bid 7 if the keys are there. Even if pard hasn't got the K, maybe we can finesse it. RHO is weakish, after all.
