San Remo - Parking knowledgeable Italians looked for...

The 2009 European Open championships are in San Remo, at the Palafiori. If we stay at a hotel a few km (slightly fewer miles) away, and wanted to drive in each day, does anyone know if there is free parking near the venue? Or how much we'd have to pay? Or (alternatively) if there is easy public transport in the town, and how we find out about it?
