When partner takes this as natural and we fail in 4 Spade or 3 NT, I call him an idiot, 2 NT shows OBVIOUSLY the minors.
When we make, everything is fine and I am a hero.
When he bids a minor after 2 NT and we miss a game, I call him an idiot, because 2 NT was natural.
With a nice partner, I try3 ♠, not perfect, but everybody can bid with perfect hands. Passing is missing too much.
He may have AKQJxx,xx,Ax,Qxx and we play 2 Spade + 4.
With my regular partner 2 NT shows a fit here- or a non forcing hand in a minor. So I try 3 HEart. We play 3 NT when partner has a stopper, else I try 4 Spade.

I'm missing the 'so...' part of this. If 3C shows a forcing hand with clubs, what's wrong with that? Bid 3C, raise diamonds if partner bids them, pass 3S or 3NT, bid 3S over 3H.
If you don't think you are strong enough to act at all, then pass. But If I'm going to bid (and I would bid) then 3C seems obvious.

I can't WAIT to see what he will call you.
I will bid 3♣ like Frances.

How do you sim this hand? I.e. how do you constrain responder's hand? I never know how often responders pass with 3 or 4 trumps in this situation. (I know bridge books say you raise with 3 or 4 trumps, but if LHO passed with trump length here, he took away our best bid with this shapde, i.e. responsive double.)

Only n00bs pass with these hands. You play in stronger games than that.
Right?

I think that raising with all or even most hands with 3 hearts is a dumb strategy, but I would probably never pass with 4 hearts (but think that bidding 4H with all or even most hands with 4 hearts is a REALLY dumb strategy).

For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."
