That would probably be the ugliest preempt I've seen :) I've read about Marty Bergen, but at least there was a method to his madness.

2♦ is strange, why not 2♣?
Again you might have raised that but it's MPs opposite a passed hand and 2♣ seems a good spot which even a BBO expert might make.

I think a raise is in order. The hand texture is perfect for one of those cold 9 trick 3NT game: Hxx in pard's suit, quick tricks on the side.
